Official Announcement of Award Winners Rhythms of the Earth International Art Exhibition

Co-hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs Australia, United Nations Association of Australia (Western Australia Division), The Lantern Collective and Asia Institute of Art Therapy, Rhythms of the Earth International Art Exhibition has grandly opened at Perth Town Hall, Australia. Rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the exhibition centres on the themeHarmony Between Nature, Ecology and Humanity. An open call for entries was launched for artists worldwide, garnering extensive responses and active participation from art practitioners and creators across the globe.

The open call attracted submissions from numerous countries, with nearly 1,000 high-quality artworks received domestically and internationally, covering diverse artistic forms including paintings, video works and art installations. To uphold professionalism, impartiality and authority, the organisers assembled an international professional jury. After rigorous multi-stage evaluations consisting of preliminary review, secondary review and final adjudication, over a hundred outstanding works were selected from thousands of entries. Gold Awards, Silver Awards, Jury’s Recommended Awards, Best Visual Awards and Finalist Awards across all categories have been determined, fully demonstrating the creative charm of contemporary international art that integrates nature and embraces diversity and coexistence.

The exhibition has invited top art experts, scholars and senior industry practitioners from five countries — Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China and Malaysia — to form an international jury panel. The jury conducted independent and impartial assessments throughout the process, ensuring international evaluation standards, standardised judging procedures and authoritative results.

All assessments strictly abide by the core principles: professionalism, rigour, diversity, inclusiveness, ecological awareness and innovative spirit. Aligned with the exhibition’s core vision ofnatural rhythms, harmonious humanity and sustainable development, entries were evaluated comprehensively across four dimensions to avoid one-dimensional aesthetic judgement, balancing artistic professionalism, ideological depth, originality and thematic relevance.

1. Thematic Relevance (40%)

Assesses whether works closely engage with core themes including natural ecology, human-nature coexistence, multicultural integration and sustainable development. Judges evaluate the capacity of artistic language to interpret the rhythms of the earth and the beauty of ecology, and to convey positive perspectives on nature and humanism.

2. Artistic Professionalism (30%)

For different categories such as painting and video art, assessment covers technical proficiency, compositional aesthetics, colour manipulation, cinematography, visual texture and other foundational skills, alongside creators’ capability of artistic expression and professional accomplishment.

3. Innovative Expressiveness (20%)

Cross-disciplinary creation is encouraged. Judges examine whether works feature unique creative perspectives, original expressive approaches and distinct personal artistic styles, breaking the boundaries of conventional art and embodying the vibrancy of diverse contemporary art.

4. Ideological Value & Communication Impact (10%)

Evaluates the humanistic connotation, intellectual depth and social value of works. Consideration is given to whether artworks inspire public reflection on nature conservation, multicultural coexistence and sustainable development, and carry positive artistic communication value and social guiding significance.

Following stringent multi-round screening during this global open call, all awards have been finalised:

5 Gold Awards and 5 Silver Awards each for the Video Category and Painting Category;

10 Jury’s Recommended Awards and 10 Best Visual Awards;

30 Outstanding Finalist Awards.

Award-winning creators hail from China, Australia, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore and other regions, fully embodying the international vision and inclusive artistic landscape of this exhibition.
