Recently, good news came from the Ministry of Education that the project "Integrated Psychological Intervention and Empirical Research Based on Art Therapy" led by Feng Xue, a think tank expert and deputy director of the academic committee at the Asian Art Therapy Research Institute, and associate professor at the School of Information and Management of Guangxi Medical University, has been successfully approved as a Youth Fund project by the Ministry of Education.

This project is not only the result of Associate Professor Feng Xue and her team's deep cultivation in interdisciplinary research, but also marks the first time that art therapy, a cutting-edge direction that integrates art, psychology, and medicine, has been officially recognized and supported by a national level research platform. It has injected strong scientific research momentum into the theoretical construction, practical promotion, and policy transformation of art therapy in China.
Art therapy uses art forms such as painting, music, dance, and drama to help individuals explore emotions, relieve stress, promote self-awareness, and mental health. Against the backdrop of the increasing demand for psychological services in today's society, how to scientifically and standardly apply artistic intervention and establish a practice and evaluation system with Chinese local characteristics has become a topic of common concern in academia and industry.
The research group led by Associate Professor Feng Xue has long been committed to interdisciplinary integration and empirical research in art therapy. The approved project aims to further clarify the conceptual boundaries and applicable scope of "art healing" and "art therapy" through systematic empirical research; Conduct intervention research targeting different groups of people for various forms of therapy such as visual arts, dance, drama, etc; And committed to collecting solid and reliable data, gradually building evaluation standards for art therapy effects that are in line with China's national conditions and cultural background.
After learning about the project proposal, Dr. Feng Xue expressed her sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education and the fund evaluation experts for their trust and support. The research team will take this opportunity to work together with scholars and practitioners from various fields such as psychology, clinical medicine, and art to promote the scientific and standardized process of art therapy. We hope that through rigorous scientific research evidence, we can not only promote academic progress, but also help establish industry standards, provide reference for policy formulation, and improve public mental health services, making art a warm force for the universal mental health of the public
The project is expected to produce a series of high-level papers, practical guidelines, and policy recommendation reports through years of solid work, aiming to form a closed loop in theoretical innovation, practical application, and social services, and provide exemplary cases for the development of China's art mental health field.
The Asian Art Therapy Research Institute warmly congratulates Associate Professor Feng Xue and her team, and looks forward to the smooth progress and fruitful results of this research, which will help China's art therapy industry move towards a more scientific, inclusive, and effective future. At the same time, we also call on the art, psychology, and clinical sectors to work together and jointly build a broad future for art therapy.
Let us all look forward to the gentle power of the interweaving of art and science, which, supported by empirical research, can contribute to the mental health of more people
