According to a survey on mental health in China, the lifetime prevalence of depression among adults is 6.8%, with depression accounting for 3.4%. Currently, there are 95 million people suffering from depression in China, with approximately 280000 people committing suicide each year, of which 40% suffer from depression. Depression patients under the age of 18 account for 30% of the total population, and 50% of depression patients are school students. The group of depression patients is showing a trend of youthfulness, calling on society to urgently pay attention to the mental health of minors.
Depression is a common psychological disorder, and the main causes of depression are emotional stress and family parent-child relationships. It can have serious negative effects on patients, and many people use medication and psychological therapy to alleviate their depressive emotions. However, another effective method is to use artistic practice and experience for healing, namely art therapy.
Article 2 of Chapter 1 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of Minors: The protection of minors shall adhere to the leadership of the Party committee, the leadership of the government, the linkage of departments, the responsibility of schools and families, social coordination, public participation, and the guarantee of the rule of law. Article 17: Schools are encouraged to establish specialized technical positions for social work or professional social workers to participate in family education guidance, psychological or behavioral intervention for minors, and educational transformation, providing specialized and personalized guidance and services for minors. Schools should improve the screening and early intervention mechanisms for the mental health of minors, offer mental health courses in accordance with regulations, and provide psychological counseling and guidance services to minors through various means such as building psychological counseling rooms and cooperating with professional mental health institutions, in order to prevent and solve abnormal psychological and behavioral problems among minors. Encourage and support relevant social organizations, social workers, and volunteers to participate in the protection of minors, providing professional services such as guardianship guidance, psychological intervention, legal aid, case assistance, educational correction, community correction, social integration and family relationship adjustment, family guardianship ability assessment, and adoption assessment, to promote the healthy growth of minors.
Art therapy refers to the use of art forms such as painting, music, dance, drama, and sandplay to treat psychological disorders. It is a nonverbal therapy that can help patients process their emotions and experiences through subjective and creative expression. It can help patients relax, alleviate depression and anxiety, stimulate creativity and self-awareness, and enhance self-esteem and confidence.
1.Establish an art therapy center with the School of Social Art Education in art universities as the implementing unit, hire professional teachers, and carry out relevant courses.
2. People's governments at or above the county level shall incorporate the protection of minors into the national economic and social development plan, establish a coordination mechanism for the protection of minors, coordinate, supervise and guide relevant departments to do a good job in the protection of minors, and include relevant funds in the budget of the local government.
3. The civil affairs department is responsible for the specific work of coordinating mechanisms for the protection of minors. The Communist Youth League, Women's Federation, Trade Union, Disabled Persons' Federation, Committee for Caring for the Next Generation, Youth Federation, Student Federation, Young Pioneers, and other people's organizations and relevant social organizations shall assist in carrying out relevant work and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of minors.
